Workers in struggleSIPTU members in Veolia receive 2½ per cent increaseSIPTU members employed by Veolia Transport Dublin Light Rail Ltd (Luas) are to receive a 2½ per cent pay increase this month as part of a comprehensive agreement negotiated by the union’s section committee last year. SIPTU represents 150 drivers, 34 revenue protection officers, 8 revenue protection supervisors and 11 traffic supervisors in the company, which provides light rail services to hundreds of thousands of commuters in Dublin each year. This agreement covers a period from the end of 2008 and was signed by the parties in February last year, providing for increases in pay and improved terms and conditions of employment. |
