The case of Marian Price

The CPI has been attempting to raise the case of Marian Price among trade union activists and also internationally. Most recently, members distributed materials containing information about her case at the ICTU Women’s Conference in March, while the British left daily paper, Morning Star, published an article about the case.
The National Executive Committee of the CPI issued the following statement on 21 February:
Bearing in mind the commitments in the Belfast Agreement for a policing and criminal justice system based on international standards of human rights, the Communist Party of Ireland supports the view that Marian Price should be brought to court or released from prison. In addition, in view of the present state of her health she should be moved to an outside hospital immediately.
