Ellen Weber is 75
One of the most charismatic German communists celebrated her seventy-fifth birthday last week. Ellen Weber, member of the National Executive of the DKP* since the relegalisation of the Communist Party in 1968, is still as active as ever. She was chairperson in the state of Hessen for many years, and deputy national chairperson, and has been a key figure in the anti-war movement for several decades now.
    During the difficult times in the late 80s and early 90s she was one of the people who tried everything to keep the party together. Now, as things are looking up, Ellen is far from retiring. She was re-elected to the National Executive in February 2005.
